Small Magellanic Cloud H ii region N77. Upper panel: a composite three-color image showing the two components A and B. The main component, N77A, is situated at α = 01^h02^m49^s and δ = –71°53′18′′. This image, taken with the ESO NTT/SuSI2, is the coaddition of narrow-band filters Hα (red), [O iii] (green), and Hβ (blue). The field size 153′′  ×  153′′  (~45  ×  45 pc). is a close up of an original image covering a field of 319′′   ×  327′′  (93  ×  95 pc). North is up and east to the left. Lower panel: the same field through the broad-band filter V. The brightest stars of the field and the young stellar object candidates are labeled (Tables 2 and 3).
