Flux time history of 2FGL J1045.0−5941 as determined by likelihood analysis for ranges of the orbital phase of η Car (left) and the physical separation of the stellar components (right) for energies 0.2 to 10 GeV. Each data point represents 2.5 months of data. Because periastron is traversed very quickly, the data points around orbital phase 0 are very broad. The region between the two dashes at the left of the horizontal error bar of the leftmost data point on the right graph is traversed twice.
