For both the flux-freezing case (dashed line) as well for non-ideal MHD (solid line), the magnetic braking time is reduced in the expansion wave region from what is was in the prestellar infall region. In the case of non-ideal MHD, it turns up sharply at the interface of the first core where diffusion has reduced the magnetic field strength significantly and rendered magnetic braking ineffective. In the flux frozen case however, the first core marks a sharp drop in magnetic braking time to only a tenth of the dynamical time.
