Coverage of the photometric and spectroscopic observations across the Sculptor dwarf spheroidal galaxy. The solid (black) square denotes the full coverage of the CTIO 4m/MOSAIC fields. The (blue) open circles show the stars observed in the VLT/FLAMES low resolution Ca ii triplet survey (Battaglia 2007; Starkenburg et al. 2010). The (red) solid dots mark the RGB stars that also have high resolution abundance measurements (Hill et al., in prep., see Tolstoy et al. 2009) and the (green) dashed ellipse is the tidal radius of Sculptor, as given by Irwin & Hatzidimitriou (1995).
