Self-consistent Jeans model of NGC 1316. Blue points are integrated-light dispersions from Bedregal et al. (2006) and the red points show the dispersions of PNe in annular bins. The blue curve represents a model with a mass-to-light ratio of 4.0 M_⊙/L_⊙ and a constant anisotropy of 0.44. The disagreement between the model and the observations in the outer part underlines the importance of DM in the dynamics of NGC 1316.
