WSRT combined 1382 and 1714 MHz image of the radio halo in Abel 697, compact sources were subtracted from the uv-data. Red contour levels are drawn at [1,2,4,8...] × 60 μJy beam-1. Blue contours display the compact sources at 1382 MHz. This high-resolution image (19″ × 10″) was made with uniform weighting and data <2.5kλ was excluded. Contour levels are drawn at μJy beam-1. Discrete sources embedded in the diffuse emission are alphabetically labeled, see Table 3.
