The luminosity function of the Hyades in different regions. This luminosity function is constructed as a moving average with a rectangular kernel of 1.5 mag in steps of 0.1 mag. The upper (blue) curve refers to the core region inside 3.1 pc from the centre, the second (cyan) curve to the corona (3.1 pc to 9 pc), the third (green) to the halo (9 pc to 18 pc), and the fourth (red) to the co-movers outside 18 pc. The dashed vertical line at MKs = 7.3 marks the onset of incompleteness of our survey. The units are stars (systems) per pc-3 and 1 mag.
