Inversion biases for vz at 1 Mm depth, similar to Fig. 6. While the black line (with minimised cross-talk) almost coincides with the dashed line of slope unity, the grey one (cross-talk ignored) indicates a horrible bias. The predicted error is 3 m s-1. The inversion is not sensitive to the horizontally averaged horizontal flow ⟨vz⟩ = 11 m s-1, therefore it was subtracted from in this comparison.
