Fig. B.1

thumbnail

The attenuation-inclination relation for the disk (top), bulge (middle) and thin disk (bottom) in the B band. In each panel the solid curves represent the attenuations calculated with the dust model used in this paper, incorporating a mixture of silicate, graphite and PAH molecules. The dotted curves represent the corresponding attenuations calculated with the dust model used in Paper III, incorporating only a mixture of silicates and graphites. In each panel the 7 different curves represent the attenuation-inclination relations for different : 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, with the values increasing from bottom curves to top curves.
