Scattering geometry for the elastic collision of an electron (mass m_e, impact parameter p, initial velocity v) on a massive particle (mass M₂, initial velocity zero). After the impact, the target particle is knocked out and recoils at an angle Θ with respect of the initial direction of motion of the projectile electron.
