Stopping power of hydrogen and iron impacting on carbon, as a function of the energy per nucleon of the ion. The lower validity limit of the Bethe-Bloch equation is 1 MeV/nucleon. We compare the output from the SRIM code, which computes all corrections, and our approximate equation which includes only the mean ionization correction.
