Distribution of the logarithm of the peak-flux-to-continuum ratio of late-time X-ray flares (blue rectangles) compared with the early-time flare one (red rectangles). The late-time flares clearly have a lower ΔF/F than early-time ones, with a median for the distribution of the logarithm 0.04 compared with 0.60 for the early-time flares, and standard deviation σ = 0.75 compared with σ = 0.73.
