Depolarization is produced only if different regions of the filaments lie at different depths in the ICM along the line of sight (see text). We assume that the filaments are tilted by an angle of 45° with respect to the plane of the sky. The gray-scale represents the increasing electron density and magnetic field strength towards the cluster center.
