The ratio between the measured dispersion σout and the input dispersion σin for a range of different stellar templates used to extract kinematics from a K 5Ib template. For each combination, a variety of dispersions in the range 150–300 km s-1 were used and noise was added to achieve a S/N ~ 35. Variations in measured stellar kinematics using templates with a large range of WCO and stellar types are around a few percent, showing that with our method a mismatched stellar template has little effect.
