Chandra ACIS-S image of Abell 2052. The bright point source in the centre is associated with the 3C 317 radio source. The image was smoothed using a Gaussian with a σ of 2 pixels. The box in the image indicates the region with a high wdem α parameter. In addition, we indicate a local peak of Hα+N ii emission (Baum et al. 1988). On the North-Eastern side, we indicate to surface brightness jumps identified by Blanton et al. (2009).
