Table 1:

The main observables for ALMA in PDRs at high redshift.

Observable
$\lambda$ [${\rm\mu}$m] $\rm\varphi~[mJy]$ Min. Redshift
[O I] 3P1 $\rightarrow$ 3P2 63.2 $\sim$0.18 z>5.7
[O III] 3P1 $\rightarrow$ 3P0 51.8 $\sim$0.18 z>3.8
[N II] 3P2 $\rightarrow$ 3P1 121.9 $\sim$0.07 z>2.5
[O I] 3P0 $\rightarrow$ 3P1 145.5 $\sim$0.03 z>1.9
[C II] 2P3/2 $\rightarrow$ 2P1/2 157.7 $\sim$0.7 z>1.7
[S III] 3P1 $\rightarrow$ 3P0 33.5 $\sim$1.5 z>11.1
[Si II] 2P3/2 $\rightarrow$ 2P1/2 34.8 $\sim$0.06 z>11.1

Notes. This specific example assumes a galaxy with a starburst as in NGC 1068 placed at z=8. We also give the minimal redshift from which the lines would be redshifted into the ALMA bands.
