We report a detection of weak diffuse interstellar bands (DIBs) in the close vicinity of 6 Herbig Ae/Be pre-main sequence stars. A common feature of these objects is the presence of a dusty shell where DIB carriers are apparently formed/destroyed. The possible influence of ultraviolet flux on carriers of diffuse interstellar bands is discussed as well as DIB to DIB intensity ratios in the spectra of the program stars and in the general interstellar medium.
Key words: stars: pre-main sequence / ISM: lines and bands
