This paper highlights the difference of the energy deposition and transport in magnetic and non-magnetic regions on the solar surface. While moving shock fronts dominate in the non-magnetic parts, highly magnetized small-scale vortices induce substantial local heating and govern the flow structures in the magnetic parts.
