Constraints on the structure of the core of subgiants via mixed modes: the case of HD49385

This article describes a new method for matching the asteroseismic constraints for subgiant stars that show mixed oscillation modes - those that exhibit g-mode character in the stellar cores and p-mode character in the envelopes. The authors apply this method to HD 49385 and are able to establish a subgiant status and rule out main sequence models with very similar fundamental parameters.
