WASP-33: the first delta Scuti exoplanet host star

by E. Herrero, J.C. Morales, I. Ribas, and R. Naves, A&A 526, L10 alt

Herrero et al. report the first detailed characterization of delta-Scuti type oscillations of the star WASP-33. This star harbors a 4.1 Jupiter-mass transiting planet. The stellar power spectrum shows a tentative commensurability with the 1.22 day orbital period of the planet. Further studies are to be carried out to confirm the existence of these star-planet interactions and to use the stellar oscillation spectrum to better constrain the star and planet parameters.
