Comparison between E(B − V) derived from the Balmer decrement and that obtained from stellar continuum fitting for 662 type 2 AGNs. The blue line represents the best-fit relation determined using the least absolute deviation method (y = 1.67x + 0.29). The two parameters are well correlated, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.67 and a mean of the absolute deviation of 0.1 from the best-fit relation. However, E(B − V) derived from the Balmer decrement is, on average, 0.35 higher than that obtained from stellar continuum fitting.
