Table 2
Priors for model parameters used in both the Uranus and Neptune simulations.
| Parameter | Distribution | Lower bound | Upper bound | μ | σ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mcore (Mp) | Uniform | 0 | 0.2 (0.1) | − | − |
| Zenv, ice | Uniform | 0 | 0.7 | − | − |
| Zenv, rock | Uniform | 0 | 0.7 | − | − |
| Zmantle, ice | Uniform | 0 | 0.99 | − | − |
| Zmantle, rock | Uniform | 0 | 0.99 | − | − |
| P1–2 (Mbar) | Uniform | 0.01 | 0.4 | − | − |
| T1bar (K) | Normal | 50 | 100 | 72 (76) | 4 |
Notes. For normally distributed parameters, μ and σ denote the mean and standard deviation, respectively. Most priors are identical for the two planets, except for Mcore and T1bar. The differing priors for Mcore are to ensure convergence in Uranus models, while the variation in T1bar is based on observational data. For parameters with different priors, values in parentheses refer to Uranus, and those outside the parentheses correspond to Neptune.
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
