Face-on color-composite images of randomly selected galaxies from the samples used in this work. Images have been generated with the python module pynbody (Pontzen et al. 2013). The three channels are the stellar surface brightness in the i, v, and u Johnston filters. From top to bottom: BL, BD, and CS galaxies. From left to right, galaxies are sorted by stellar mass in increasing order. Each image has a width of 50 kpc. Stellar mass and B/D is given for each galaxy.
