Face-on (top row) and edge-on (bottom row) views of selected CIELO galaxies. Images are colour-composites using synthetic SDSS i, r, and g observations generated using the 3D radiative transfer code SKIRT, and following the methods and calibrations from Kapoor et al. (2021). Galaxies are placed at a distance of 20 Mpc and the field of view of all images is 40 × 40 kpc at a pixel resolution of 100 pc on one side.
