Result of processing a stack of 500 images of a simulated binary object composed of the single star (HIP 52457) and a fake companion using the LIST algorithm. The fake companion is displaced by (a) 2.83 pixels, (b) 2.25 pixels, (c) 2.25 pixels, and (d) 1.41 pixels. These displacements correspond to the four cases detailed in Table 2. The field of view is 1.050″×0.805″ in all four figures.
