Data-reduced XMM-Newton image of Abell S0840 in the energy band 0.5–2.0 keV, smoothed with a Gaussian kernel radius of 5 pixels. The area between the circles at 11 arcmin and 13 arcmin indicates the region used for the sky background in the analysis.
