Notes. Column 1 is the APOGEE field design type. Column 2 is the number of stars in the fields that are in the excluded buffer zone between the low and high α disks. Column 3 is the number of low α stars in the fields. Columns 4 and 5 give the number of early and late high α stars. Column 6 is the total number of stars and column 7 gives the percentage of high α stars that are designated early high α. As stated in the text, the percentages are clustered around the 60–75% range. The “sgr” entry is related to fields positioned on the main body of the Sgr dSph galaxy, where only foreground stars are included in the statistics, whereas “removed” lists the statistics for fields containing very low numbers of stars.
