λR as a function of the ellipticity coloured by the redshift for the 106 galaxies in the sample, with the respective histograms. The circles indicate galaxies where the spin parameter was corrected by the atmospheric seeing, and therefore the value corresponds to the intrinsic stellar angular momentum ( λ R true $ \lambda^{\mathrm{true}}_{R} $). The triangles are galaxies where corrections could not be applied, and thus the values are the measured ones ( λ R obs $ \lambda^{\mathrm{obs}}_{R} $) and can be considered lower limits. The black dashed line denotes the threshold between slow and fast rotators, given by 0.31 × ϵ $ \times \sqrt{\epsilon} $ (Emsellem et al. 2011).

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
