Detailed view of the central part of the Westerlund 2 cluster. Right: HST WFPC2 F814W image of the central part of the Westerlund 2 cluster. The higher resolution HST PC F336W cut-off image of the region around MSP183 (shown to the left) reveals that it appears blended with several fainter sources in the WFPC2 F814W image as well as in the lower resolution images taken from ground-based telescopes. This provides an explanation as to why it was found to be so luminous (and massive) in previous studies of Westerlund 2 (Rauw et al. 2007; Drew et al. 2018).
