Results of the statistical hypothesis test Λ. The test was applied to data binned according to the values of four parameters, namely the solar wind H+ density nsw, the cometary ions density nci, and the latitude and longitude of the spacecraft sub-nadir (SN) point on the cometary nucleus. The data are distributed into three quantiles using variable bin sizes. The upper panel exhibits the results of the Λ test for each bin, with a dashed horizontal line denoting the critical value ucrit above which H0 is rejected at a 90% confidence level. In practical terms, if Λ falls below this threshold, we can confidently conclude the absence of a significant signal. In the lower panel, we visualize the optimal distribution of the signal mean λs as a function of the energy normalized to the solar wind H+ energy and the four binned parameters.
