Distribution of X-ray luminosities of ULXs for all the burst ages (see legend) for the populations following models A and B (left and right panel, respectively). Geometrical beaming is accounted for in the X-ray luminosity, but the observability of a ULX is not. In the observed population, the brighter luminosities would be slightly suppressed, as they would be beamed.
