Number density of galaxies from COSMOS2020 catalog in SFR-M_★ plane, with SFRs determined by the approach used in our study. The darkest color indicates the highest number density of galaxies for a given stellar mass, which is further highlighted by purple circles in the stellar mass range of 10^9.5 M_⊙ ≤ M_★ < 10^11.3 M_⊙. These number density peaks correspond to the MS for our SFR tracer and can be compared to the MS from Leslie et al. (2020, green solid lines), where the SFRs were measured from three GHz radio-continuum observations.
