, where R is the gas constant and μ is the mean molecular weight of the atmosphere. In the case of WASP-189 b, we calculated the mean molecular weight using FastChem (Stock et al. 2018, 2022) and found μ = 2.016 g mol−1, which is in agreement with a mostly hydrogen and helium dominated atmosphere. The transit depth of a scale height is calculated using
. All uncertainties were calculated assuming Gaussian error propagation.
