Same as Fig. C.1 but for Ba+ in the atmosphere of KELT-9b. The signal strength at the end of the transit is weaker than at the start, which agrees with the prediction that Ba+ should ionise to Ba2+ on the hot dayside. We note that we only fit for one orbital velocity.
