Illustration of the proposed experiment (not to scale). The occultation yields a very accurate measurement of Callisto’s position in the ICRF (small green ellipse centred at Callisto). Tracking the Juno spacecraft at the perijove(s) closest to the occultation would reduce Jupiter’s initial position uncertainty (red ellipse) to the smaller blue ellipse.
