Table 1

Properties of the standard Herbig Ae/Be disc model (STD) used for the calculations and alternative dust grain distributions.

Name amin amax γ σPAH/σdust
STD 0.05 µm 1 mm 3.5 310
SG 0.05 µm 1 µm 3.5 1.7
LG 1 µm 1 mm 3.5 6300
VLG 10 µm 10 mm 3.5 14000

Notes. In all models the following properties are used: inner disc radius rin = 0.5 au, outer disc radius rout = 100 au, disc mass mdisc = 0.228 M, stellar mass M*, = 2.28 M, stellar luminosity L* = 15.33 L, and stellar temperature T* = 8200 K. The stellar properties (reference star HD 169142; Honda et al. 2012) are chosen to be comparable to the photodissociation results from our previous study in Lange et al. (2021). For comparison of other grain populations, we use models to account for only small grains (SGs), only large grains (LGs), and an extreme case with only very large grains (VLGs), where σPAH/σdust is given in the midplane at 10 au. We find no significant deviation of σPAH/σdust within the disc at relevant heights for coagulation similar to Fig. 2. for the alternative grain distributions.
