Simplified block diagram of HiCAT with the control loops and their interactions for our experiment. The IrisAO segmented DM creates the segmented aperture. The LOWFC sends commands to DM1 only, while the HOWFC sends commands to both DMs. Loops can be closed or opened during the operations.
