Column density of dust as a function of time, post-explosion. Despite the nonuniform distribution of dust, this can be correlated to the total opacities (from the center to the outer edge of the ejecta), using the relative abundances of each dust type at a given epoch and their corresponding optical constants (see Sect. 4).
