Average number of simulated (left) and detectable (right) habitable planets for the LIFE mission obtained by coupling our Monte Carlo simulations with the probabilistic habitability assessment tool HUNTER (Zsom 2015). A habitable planet is here defined as a planet on which liquid surface water can exist. Both plots show the sample of Sun-like stars with the hab2max planet population and a median exozodiacal dust level of 3 zodi observed with the 2 m mirrors, 5% total throughput, and the interferometric baseline length optimization for the center of the opt HZ.
