Parameter space of the possible companion ranges that are expected to produce a detectable jet axis wiggling in the HD 163296 jet axis. The grey hatched regions indicate parameter regions excluded by our observations (where a companion would be likely to cause a wiggling due to either orbital motion or precession, corresponding to the upper and lower hatched regions, respectively). The region shaded in green (left) contains companion objects which would produce a wiggle opening angle too small to detect in our observations; the regions shaded in blue (top) and light blue (bottom) give companions with wiggling period too long or short, respectively, to be observed in these data.
