Definitions of the horizontally averaged quantities available in the .rprof files.

Variable Meaning Definition Statistics
Name
Y vertical coordinate y
RHO density full
P pressure full
TEMP temperature full
A pseudo-entropy full
X1 mass fraction of the lighter fluid full
V magnitude of velocity full
VX x-component of velocity full
VY y-component of velocity full
VZ z-component of velocity full
|VY| magnitude of vy average
VXZ magnitude of horizontal velocity average
VORT magnitude of vorticity average
FK flux of kinetic energy
FH flux of enthalpy
FFD downflow filling factor fraction of the total horizontal area where

Notes. In the last column, ‘average’ means that only the average is computed and ‘full’ indicates that also the minimum, maximum, and standard deviation are computed. The names of the last three quantities then start with MIN_, MAX_, and STDEV_, respectively.
