Section of order 35 from Night 1, aligned to different rest frames, with the corresponding standard deviation shown in the top left of each panel. For each alignment, the matrix has been continuum normalised and then the mean of each column has been subtracted. This exposes the characteristic “X” pattern caused by misalignment of the stellar lines. The noise is reduced closest to the photon noise in the host star’s true rest frame, reducing the standard deviation by a factor of 1.8.
