Magnitude of the satellites as a function of the range between the observer and the satellite. The dots are measurements of original Starlink satellites (Pomenis telescope, from Otarola et al. 2020), and the lines are obtained using a simplified Lambertian sphere model for two altitudes. The unknown solar phase angle contributes to the dispersion of the measurements.
