Schematic reconstruction of the Solar Orbiter crossing in the case that the reverse field region corresponds to a cometary structure that is disconnected from the source and is advected by the solar wind. In this case, the crossing is not along the s/c tangential motion as for a stationary structure, but corresponds to an approximately radial cut.
