Fig. 4.

Prominent P Cygni features of SN 2018ec at two selected epochs. The zero velocity is set to the rest wavelength of the shortest wavelength component of each line blend, i.e., at 5890 Å for the Na I D (blue), 8498 Å for the Ca II near-IR triplet (orange), and 10683 Å for a C I blend (red). Velocities at absorption minima shown by the features are surprisingly similar, with ∼8500 km s−1 around ∼1 month from the estimated maximum light and ∼7000 km s−1 at ∼2 months from light curve peak, with the latter epoch showing somewhat more scatter, which can (partly) arise from the lower signal-to-noise ratio of the spectra. The spectra are binned by a factor of 4, for clarity and the line profiles are normalised to match the flux level of both their absorption minimum and emission peak within a given epoch.
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
