Cumulative FFD for the 19 most flaring giant stars, co-adding their 2188 flares (gray and black dots show the original and bias-corrected values, respectively), with an estimate of the range of values in energy bins (blue dots and bars). The FFD ofKIC 2852961 and the two-component fit is added separately (gray and red dots and lines for original and corrected values). We note the difference in the high-energy range. Flare energies are derived for the Kepler bandpass.
