Comparison of the photon flux observed by Alice at 15:58 UT 9 July 2016 to the solar photon flux, measured by TIMED-SEE at long wavelengths (1500–1800 Å). Three distinct regions of the Alice slit (Rows 8–11 [red], Rows 13–16 [black] and Rows 18–21 [blue]) have been plotted which are the same as those plotted in Fig. 9. The linear fits are usedto scale the solar flux, so it can be subtracted from the observed Alice spectrum.
