Notes. The He, CO, and Si core masses correspond to Lagrangian masses. (a) The type II SN model m12 has a total mass greater than the initial mass by 0.4 M because of the adopted H-rich envelope mass. Its core properties are, however, compatible with the results from our MESA grid. Such a model couldarise from a merger (Menon & Heger 2017).
