Notes. The quantity Δtsave indicates the average spacing between the saved (analyzed) time steps. As simulations that are started from a horizontally uniform state take time to develop convection and to reach a statistically steady state, a section at the beginning of each simulation was discarded based on a visual inspection. These sections are not included in the length shown in the table. We note that Teff was calculated from the average of the energy flux over the last 1000 points of the simulation.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.

Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
