Hardness intensity diagram (HID) from RXTE monitoring observations of GRS 1758−258 from 1997 until 2007. The seven dim soft states are highlighted as in Fig. 4. To show the “q”-shaped track of GRS 1758−258 in the HID, the data points of two soft state passages (2003 and 1/2007) are connected.
